Simulation for Textile Design

Recorded April 28, 2021

Complimentary for AATCC members
US$25.00 for nonmembers

Presented by Traci Lamar, PhD, and Lisa Chapman, PhD,  North Carolina State University

Simulation has the potential to replace all or part of the prototyping process and is increasingly considered a pre-production strategy for reducing time and cost. Faculty at NC State University are incorporating simulation technology into our teaching and research that includes a color managed yarn inventory, and the ability to simulate knit and woven fabric as well as some on the body garments. In addition, we are utilizing functions within specialty software to teach how to evaluate knits and woven designs before production.
