STUDENT COMPETITION

AATCC is accepting entries for a time capsule that features textile and textile-related products from around the world.

AATCC Student Chapters can submit their own pieces and one student chapter will have the opportunity to include theirs!

In 1964, the Association created a time capsule that represented the American textile industry. This year, 2021, at the 100-year anniversary celebration of the American Association of Textile Chemist and Colorists, the contents of that time capsule will be revealed!

After the reveal, the Association will add a new set of 10 to 12 textile and textile-related products to this time capsule, for AATCC members of the future to open. For our next 100 years, AATCC wants to reflect on how much we have changed as an Association—we are no longer only American and not only Chemists & Colorists. Today, and in the future, AATCC represents textile professionals around the world, and throughout the textile supply chain. As we aim to be inclusive and have all cultures represented, we find that it is important to include textile products that show just how diverse the textile industry is.

For the 2021 time capsule, we want the future of the industry, AATCC Student Chapters, to be involved!

This time capsule represents the diverse, interesting, resilient, exciting people and products that make up today’s textile world. What would you like to see revealed to the world 100 years from now?
