The AATCC Executive Committee on Research recently approved mid-year publication of approved standards. You can purchase these documents only as downloadable PDFs from July until the next AATCC Technical Manual is published. You may purchase each standard as soon as it is available or wait for the next Technical Manual, which will include all approved standards at no additional cost.

  • EP13-2018, Electrical Resistance of Electronically-Integrated Textiles

In 2018, AATCC approved significant changes to standard laundering parameters. Several test methods now include these standard parameters, others will adopt them in upcoming revisions. Standard and alternate laundering conditions are also listed in AATCC LP1. This laboratory procedure replaces AATCC M6. For standards that still reference AATCC M6, please refer to the latest version of LP1 instead. These references will be updated as soon as possible within the AATCC consensus model. Technical ManualAll current AATCC standards are compiled in the annual AATCC Technical Manual. Each test method is designated by a number followed by the year in which the method was issued, last revised, or reaffirmed. Use the full designation when referring to a particular method. For example: AATCC TM8-2016.
Buyer and seller, or regulatory bodies, may establish specifications based on the results of AATCC test methods. AATCC does not define “passing” results for any test.
AATCC test methods, evaluation procedures, and monographs are developed by research committees through research, testing, and discussion, often taking several years of work. Simplicity, reproducibility, applicability, cost of performing the test, and the time required to perform the test are all important considerations. The content of many AATCC methods form the basis of equivalent ISO methods.
Before a method is published in the AATCC Technical Manual, it must be approved by the responsible research committee and the Technical Committee on Research (TCR).
During the first three years, each new test method is reviewed annually, at which time, on recommendation of the research committee and approval by TCR, it may be reaffirmed, revised, or withdrawn. After the first three years, each method is reviewed at least every five years. The historical record of these actions is published at the top of each method.
