Varley Family Textile Technology Scholarship: Kushbu Jivan
I am a rising junior at the Fashion Institute of Technology, majoring in Textile Development and Marketing with minors in Art History and Ethics & Sustainability. I am independently pursuing biochemistry to help aid in my research and development of sustainable biomaterials that can be commercially applied to apparel, home, and performance textiles. The AATCC Foundation Varley Family Scholarship will allow me to continue my education and pursuit of bio-material development while allowing me to become more involved in the industry. I would like to thank all of my teachers for your support, as well as AATCC Foundation for giving me the opportunity to pursue my passion.
Gordon and Marjorie Osborne Scholarship: Victor Alvarez Valverde
I am a rising sophomore at NCSU studying textile technology with a focus on supply chain management. It is an honor to receive the Foundation Osborne Scholarship from AATCC. This scholarship is a representation of the work I have put in so far for textiles and the work I am willing to do for the rest of my career in textiles. I am beyond proud of receiving a scholarship from such a prestigious association in our field. AATCC is truly dedicated to getting students involved in the textiles industry with industry leaders who are at the forefront of innovation. It is my goal to work for sportswear companies such as Nike, Adidas, or Patagonia and be a crucial part of the supply chain aspect of these companies or work in product development. Thanks so much for this opportunity!

Fibrous Materials Scholarship: Jessica Trippiedi
The chance of receiving the AATCC Foundation Fibrous Materials Scholarship permits the opportunity of focusing on future textile-related challenges and competitions. As a life-long student this scholarship will only push me further to make a difference in the worlds of fashion and femtech communities. I am majoring in Textile Development and Marketing (at the Fashion Institute of Technology) with a concentration of ethics and sustainability. My dream is to merge my background in textile development and passion for advancing women’s health. The financial assistance from this scholarship will give me leverage to continue working on my initiatives and personal projects beyond the classroom.
Textile Chemistry Scholarship: Antonia Craig
I am beyond grateful to have been selected as the recipient of the AATCC Textile Chemistry Scholarship for the 2021-2022 school year. Thank you for your generosity, which is allowing me to continue my studies in Materials Science and Engineering at Clemson University. I am currently a Senior, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering with an emphasis in polymers and plastics. I plan on graduating in December 2022 with a BA. While I attend Clemson as a Full-time student, I also have a part-time job to help pay for my tuition. It’s not easy to balance work and school, and I am truly grateful for the assistance this scholarship is providing. When I graduate, I plan on going into a field where I can work with fibers to create innovative products.
