Haripriya Ramesh
I am a Graduate Researcher in an Advanced Functional Laboratory based in Texas. I have an MS in Textile Engineering with a concentration in Medical Materials and a Graduate Certification in Nanobiotechnology from North Carolina State University’s Wilson College of Textiles and a BS in Textile Engineering from AC College of Technology, Anna University, Chennai, India. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Kanti Jasani and the AATCC Foundation for their generosity in funding me with the scholarship. I am honored to be a recipient of the same. Receiving this scholarship motivates me to work harder and do better research, while it helps me defray some of my research expenses. Having an AATCC student membership would help me continue use the resources on a day-to-day basis and network with the world of textiles even better. My research focuses on combining Materials Science and Bioengineering for creating Personal Protective Equipment for Medical Device Applications. In this regard, I have been working on face masks and filter materials to combat COVID-19. I am eternally grateful to my advisor and a mentor, Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar for continuously encouraging his students and putting them in the path of success.
