AATCC Communities Quick-Start Guide

The brand-new membership platform, AATCC Communities, is now live! Feel free to visit the site using the link below or scroll on to learn about navigating your new membership benefit.

Welcome to AATCC Communities!

1. Log-In

Click the link above. It will take you to the following page. From here, log in with your AATCC website username and password. Select the “remember me” option only if you are on a private device.

2. Complete your profile.

After you’ve logged in, you will enter the member home page. From there, click the initials to the top right, then click “Profile” in the dropdown menu. On your profile page, feel free to add a profile picture, links to your social media, a Bio, your Education, Job History, Professional Associations, and Honors & Awards. You may notice that some fields, such as your contact details, already have information in them. These fields are filled in by the official AATCC directory. When you go to edit them, a new tab will direct you to edit your information in the Member’s Portal. This makes sure that AATCC has the most recent contact information on file to service your membership. On your profile, you can also configure your general privacy information as well as your general email settings by going to the “My Account” tab.

3. Check out your communities.

You’re a part of several communities, including a Student or Individual Members group, your local Section, your Interest Groups, your Voting Group, and any committees you may be a part of. To find these, click on the Communities tab then the drop down “My Communities.” Enter a community to see discussion threads with fellow members, announcements, polls, and library documents & resources!

4. Configure your email settings.

As mentioned in step #2, there is a way to manage your general email settings from your profile. In addition to this, you can also tailor your email notifications from each community and discussion thread to your liking! To edit your community email notifications, go to the community that you want to change. Click the Settings button towards the right side of the Community Homepage. Click the email notifications button to change between receiving notifications in real time, a “daily digest” email, plain text emails, or no email notifications from that community at all. You can change the email notifications you receive from discussion threads. Go to a community discussion thread by clicking on one of the responses. From there, you will see a white star and the word “follow” on the right side of the screen. To follow the discussion thread and receive email updates for every post, click on the white star. The star will turn blue and say “following’. If you post in the thread, you will automatically “follow” the thread. You can unfollow by clicking the blue star.

5. Find and connect with fellow members using the Directory.

On the top bar, there is an option to go to the Directory. This allows you to find other AATCC members. Using the directory, you can search for AATCC members. Remember someone who you met at a committee meeting but can’t remember their name? No problem! You can search by company, city, and community. Once you’ve searched for someone, you have the option to add them as a contact and message them directly.

6. Read the User Guidelines.

The AATCC User Guidelines are available at the bottom of the pages in the Communities tab as well as below. Questions on the guidelines can be directed to Josie Cranfill, [email protected] AATCC Communities Guidelines & Recommendations
  • Be Polite
Please use tact when responding to fellow community members. AATCC aims to empower the global community through collaboration and constructive discussion, so stay civil! Using banned words such as profanity or slurs will result in your posts being removed.
  • No Self-Promotion
A direct call to action for people to do something that will benefit you or your company is considered self-promotional. Have a product or opportunity promotion you think is especially relevant your community? Contact your community administrator (found on the members page) to ask for approval before posting.
  • Be Mindful of Using Appropriate Channels
AATCC Communities is designed for Member discussion and interaction. Posting content in a Community does not denote official plans to incorporate discussed items into AATCC methods or Association policies. Any official proposals must be handled through designated channels such as Committee meetings and balloting.
  • Keep your information up to date.
Changing jobs may mean your interests change, or a new job may come with a new address. Make sure you update your information regularly via the Member’s Portal.
  • See something wrong?
Report all bugs and technical problems to both your community administrator and to Josie Cranfill ([email protected]).
  • Need to contact AATCC staff?
Please do so through phone or email. Specific staff contact information can be found at www.aatcc.org/about.
