AATCC Builds Global Textile Marketplace Presence

The American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) is strengthening its visibility across the global textile marketplace, with its upcoming exhibition at ITMA ASIA + CITME in Shanghai, November 20–24, a major focus of that effort. Following Functional Fabric Fair Fall in Portland and alongside its participation in this week’s Advanced Textiles Expo in Orlando, AATCC is bringing its expertise directly to the places where textile professionals connect, discover technologies, and make business decisions.

Connecting in Shanghai

AATCC’s presence in Shanghai underscores its commitment to building relationships across China, Asia, and the broader international textile community. Taking place at the National Exhibition and Convention Center, ITMA ASIA + CITME brings together technologies spanning textile production, processing, recycling, and testing. For AATCC, the exhibition provides an important opportunity to reach new audiences, engage existing members and partners, and broaden awareness of its standards, educational programs, and technical resources.

At Hall 6.1, Stand A25, visitors can connect directly with AATCC representatives and explore interactive displays and tools supporting textile quality and performance evaluation. Featured resources include color evaluation scales, lightfastness testing materials, and details on evaluating water resistance and repellency. AATCC representatives will discuss how standardized testing supports consistent results and how professionals can connect with the association through education, membership, and technical collaboration. Several AATCC corporate members will also participate in the exhibition, creating further opportunities for industry connection and knowledge exchange.

Engaging Across the Textile Marketplace

In the United States, that commitment includes participation in Functional Fabric Fair Fall, held October 26–28 in Portland, and Advanced Textiles Expo, taking place November 3–5 in Orlando. At Advanced Textiles Expo, AATCC is a Wellness Sponsor and supporting organization, reinforcing its engagement with the advanced and industrial textiles community.

Another major milestone was Bharat Tex in New Delhi, July 14–17, marking AATCC’s first trade exhibition in India. This participation represented an important step in expanding the association’s international visibility and strengthening relationships within India’s textile industry. Displays and conversations introduced attendees to AATCC’s testing resources while providing opportunities to understand local industry needs and explore collaboration in standards, education, and research. Together, Bharat Tex and the upcoming Shanghai exhibition reflect AATCC’s commitment to deeper engagement in key textile markets.

Earlier this year, AATCC brought testing to life at Functional Fabric Fair Spring through its Textile Test Zone, connecting laboratory practices with sourcing and product development decisions. AATCC also attended and sponsored Textiles Recycling Expo USA and the NAUMD Convention, extending its reach into textile circularity, uniforms, and workwear.

At Techtextil North America, AATCC connected with technical textile professionals and the Alphabet Soup Collective, supporting networking across industry associations. AATCC representatives also walked Pittcon, exploring laboratory technologies and engaging with the broader scientific community.

Across these activities, the purpose is consistent: increase awareness of AATCC, build meaningful relationships, and connect more of the textile industry with the association’s expertise. By maintaining an active, accessible presence, AATCC aims to introduce more manufacturers, brands, researchers, laboratories, and product developers to resources relevant to their work.

AATCC connects the global textile community to empower an innovative, informed, and sustainable future. Headquartered in the Research Triangle Park, NC, USA, AATCC has provided standards development, testing materials, educational resources, and professional networking to the global textile industry for more than a century.
