February 20, Virtual, 2:00 PM – 3:30PM EST
Curious about sustainability initiatives in the textile industry? Join us for a discussion to learn about Accelerating Circularity, an action-oriented nonprofit focused on textile-to-textile recycling systems at commercial scale through a collaborative, stakeholder-led approach. Their mission is to catalyze new circular supply chains and business models to turn used textiles into mainstream raw materials. You’ll have the opportunity to interact with Shelly Gottschamer, VP of Global Programs & Stakeholder Engagement at Accelerating Circularity, as she showcases their efforts in textile sustainability.
Shelley Gottschamer is an apparel supply chain veteran, who understands the reality of how social and environmental policies translate on both the factory floor and the bottom line. Starting with Levi’s San Francisco, Shelly has served in sourcing/sustainability roles with leading global brands, including Patagonia, Crocs, Canada Goose and Roots. As Chief Sustainability Officer with Outerknown, Shelly led this startup through Fair Labor Association (FLA) accreditation before manufacturing began – an FLA first. Her industry engagements include; Social Labor Convergence Program working group chair, Sustainable Apparel Coalition Strategic Council member, and advisor at Bard, the Responsible Business Alliance / Fordham University and Outdoor industry Association. Shelly sits on several boards and is currently VP of Global Programs & Stakeholder Engagement at Accelerating Circularity. This event is free for AATCC Members! Join today.
