Anna Bateman —Senior Stakeholder Ambassador, The Microfibre Consortium
Topic: Introduction to Microfibers
Anna Bateman is Senior Stakeholder Ambassador at The Microfibre Consortium (TMC). She received her Bachelors of Arts in Fashion and Textile Design from the University of Southampton, and went on to receive her Master of Arts in Human Rights, Culture and Social Justice from the University of London. Her current work at The Microfibre Consortium combines both elements of her education through her support and coordination of global stakeholders across the fashion and textile industry to take meaningful action against fibre fragmentation (also known as microfibre pollution) from textile fabrics.
Candace Davidow— Manager – Materials Lab Engineer (Apparel), Under Armour
Topic: Fiber Shedding and How to Measure It
Candace Davidow graduated from NC State University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering, Minor in Tissue Engineering, and Masters in Textile Engineering. She was a Cheerleader in undergrad and had the privilege of working at the Textile Protection and Comfort Center at NCSU in grad school. She has been at Under Armour in Baltimore, Maryland, for 10 years and is currently the Manager of the Apparel and Accessories testing side of their state-of-the-art testing facility called Proving Grounds. Proving Grounds has many testing capabilities, and beyond performing standard tests they have the freedom to creatively alter or improve existing standard methods and even create their own completely new ones.
Andrea Ferris — CEO & CICLO Co-Founder, Intrinsic Advanced Materials
Topic: Overview of Solutions
Andrea Ferries is the the CEO and Co-Founder of Intrinsic Advanced Materials and Co-Inventor of CiCLO® technology. Throughout her decade-long journey, she has experienced firsthand the challenges and triumphs of commercializing a scientific technology in the often misunderstood industry of biodegradable plastics.
