AATCC California aims to be an inclusive community for textile industry professionals within California.

In order to engage with as many professionals and students across the disciplines of textiles, the vision for the AATCC California section is to be founded by 7 Pillars:

1) Color Perception
2) Laboratory Testing
3) Regulatory/Compliance
4) Chemical Applications
5) Sustainability
6) Technology/Wearable Electronics
7) Education/Student Engagement

All of the pillars have the same 4 objectives:

Education: To increase knowledge of materials and textiles.

Research: To encourage in any practical way, research work on textile design and coloration, chemical processes, and materials of importance to the textile industry.

Communication: To establish for the members channels by which the interchange of professional and technical knowledge among them may be increased.

Promotion: To promote the knowledge of textiles, materials, dyestuffs, and chemicals as related to the various trades in the California and provide meetings of interest in harmony with the objectives of the National Association.

2019-2020 Term Officers:

July 25, 2019 AATCC California Q3 Technical Meeting: Lab Testing at Patagonia, Inc.
Join AATCC CA for a visit to Patagonia, Inc. Headquarters. Patagonia will present on the impact of sustainability trends on lab testing.

April 15, 2019 AATCC California Q2 Technical Meeting: Connecting Students with Textile Sustainability Practices

Please join us on Monday, April 15 at 6:30 PM at Levi’s headquarters for our student-led meeting. Our UC Davis A2 chapter students will be interviewing a panel of retail and textile companies to understand their sustainability practices and goals.
To encourage attendance, all students with a valid ID will be admitted free to this event. Registration/tickets are required for all attendees. Click here to register.

October 5, 2018   Ocean Plastic Pollution Sail with Algalita Marine Research

Join the California chapter of AATCC and Algalita on a sailing expedition to learn about plastic pollution and its impacts on marine life and ecosystems. Algalita is a leading, nonprofit organization committed to solving the plastic pollution crisis in our oceans through research and education. On this special event, you will join other textiles and apparel professionals who are passionate about sustainable textle systems to learn about common types of ocean debris and the difference between macro, microplastics and microfibers, as well as common research methods like manta trawl.
