The AATCC Foundation Pulcra Chemicals Graduate Fellowship awards $5,000 to a student pursuing a PhD in Fiber and Polymer Science at North Carolina State University Wilson College of Textiles or a PhD degree in fibrous and polymeric materials at Clemson University’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). The fellowship is funded by Pulcra Chemicals and matching funds from AATCC Foundation.


  • US citizen
  • Clemson University Department of Materials Science and Engineering OR North Carolina State University’s Wilson College of Textiles.
  • PhD candidate
  • Focus on fibrous and polymeric materials
  • Preference to a graduating senior or masters student accepted in the PhD program

In the event that the nominated recipient decides not to pursue his/her degree, the Foundation Board may approve another eligible recipient as an alternate.

The fellowship is intended to assist students for one academic year.

Applications due March 31. Recipients will be announced in May. Funds will be paid to the university prior to the beginning of the fall semester.
