Founded as the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC), the Association continues to evolve to meet the needs of those in the ever-changing textile, apparel, and materials industries. AATCC has served textile professionals since 1921. Today, the Association provides test method development, quality control materials, education, and professional networking for a global audience.

Members are employees of textile, apparel, and home goods manufacturers; dye and chemical manufacturers; testing laboratories; consumer and retail organizations; state and federal government agencies; and colleges and universities. AATCC has thousands of individual and corporate members world-wide.

Test Methods
AATCC is internationally recognized for its standard methods of testing fibers and fabrics to measure and evaluate such performance characteristics as colorfastness, appearance, soil release, dimensional change, and water resistance. New and updated test methods are published annually in the AATCC Technical Manual.

Today, the scope of AATCC reaches far beyond chemists and colorists. Workshops, conferences, and publications address topics ranging from design technology to composite materials science. The best resources for what’s happening at AATCC are the AATCC home page, the free AATCC News newsletter, and the AATCC Review.
