The Millson Award for Invention recognizes inventions in the textile field. The invention should be recognized as an innovation, and will be judged solely on its merits and its impact on the U. S. textile, fiber, polymer, and medical industries.
It is not necessary that the invention be patented.
The award is not limited to citizens of the United States or to members of AATCC, and it may be given to more than one individual. It may also be given posthumously.
Nominees need not be AATCC members. Originally an annual award, it is now presented every three years (beginning in 2010) at the AATCC International Conference.
The Millson Award comes with a plaque and US$1,000 honorarium.
