Presented by Louann Spirito, SGS, Consumer Testing Services

This webinar will review in detail four test methods currently used in the apparel industry for measuring stretch, growth, and recovery properties of knit and woven fabrics made with elastic yarns.

  • ASTM D2594 – Stretch Properties of Knit Fabrics Having Low Power
  • ASTM D3107 – Stretch Properties of Fabrics Woven from Stretch Yarns
  • ASTM D4964 – Tension and Elongation of Elastic Fabrics (CRE Tensile Tester)
  • ASTM D6614 – Stretch Properties of Textile Fabrics – CRE Method

Performance specifications and industry best practices will also be discussed to help provide a better understanding of what the test result numbers mean and how to apply realistic expectations and requirements.
