In this webinar, multiple test methods of stretch properties of knitted and woven fabrics will be introduced, and the detailed testing process of each will be explained. The calculation of the stretch, growth, and recovery of elastic fabrics will be elaborated to clarify some confusions that are commonly seen in the industry. In addition, the best industrial practices in measuring and describing the fabric stretch properties will be suggested.

Dr. Min Zhu is the Technical Director Softlines, at SGS North America, Inc. She leads the America’s Softlines technical team to develop testing programs and performance specification, and provide technical support to US clients. She also works with SGS Softlines global teams to coordinate the implementation of softlines policies, regulations, and technical initiatives. Prior to SGS, Zhu was an assistant professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, and served in manager roles in global companies including BASF, Cotton Incorporated, and TAL Apparel Ltd. She has both academic and corporate experiences in the R&D, product development, technical marketing and manufacturing of textiles and apparel. Dr. Zhu holds a Ph.D. degree in textile chemistry in Shanghai, China and an MBA degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
