New AATCC Texas Section Gearing Up!

Dear Texas Region Members and Friends,

As some of you know, we have just recently founded a brand new geographic section of the AATCC Texas SectionAmerican Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists (AATCC) in Texas.  My purpose was for the traditional benefits of the individual members to network, learn, and develop their business and personal skills.  Our Section has talented and experienced textile professionals who I believe deserved an AATCC Section.  I’m excited about this.

In addition, I’m passionate about making sure our next generation of colleagues, the university students who are actively engaged in textile, merchandising, design, and product development programs in Texas, or within driving distance of Dallas, can get to know the industry members, and begin to enter our business with a sharper view and hopefully a greater level of engagement because of our Section meetings.

You can find a link to our Texas Section activities and Section leadership at:

Information on the upcoming April 20, 2018 AATCC Texas Section Meeting can be found at the above link. (RSVP please)

The Texas Section will have appointed members to an Academic Advisory Board.  I’ll be sending another email to those I’ve spoken to from the participating universities.  Those who would like to join from previously inactive schools, please send me an email.  I look forward to helping you engage your students with our industry.  I would like to have student projects, designs on display at our meeting.  Let’s show off our talent to the world, and get the word out there are great students waiting in Texas for jobs.

This Section can be very vibrant.  We have approx. 400 to 500 textile students within driving distance of Dallas and 50 Senior AATCC Members working in Texas.  We can make real-world improvements in our careers and companies by simply participating.  Send me an email about participating if you have questions.

Next year’s AATCC International Conference is being held in Fort Worth, TX, USA the week of April 9th, 2019.  This is a great honor for us, and I’ll be talking this April 20th about plans to take advantage of this amazing local/global opportunity.

Please share this with your organization and network.  We early welcome industry and academic friends from outside of Texas to join and participate.

Best Regards,

Harrie Schoots, AATCC Texas Section Founder & Chair and AATCC Southern Regional Board Member
