Spectrophotometer calibration is vital to accurate instrumental color evaluation. And accurate measurement of textile color requires calibration with a textile standard.

This white, optically brightened fabric, which is traceable to a national standardizing lab, is used as the calibration standard for spectrophotometers. The fluorescent whitening agents (FWAs) used for textiles have different UV absorption properties than those used for plastics or other non-textile materials. Using a textile material as the primary UV energy calibration reference standard rather than the white plaque supplied with a spectrophotometer improves inter-instrument agreement for textile measurements. This also allows users to interchange spectral data of optically brightened textiles within a supply chain which makes it possible for consistent colorimetric calculations and digitally based quality assessments. When retailer, brand, and manufacturer numbers agree, everyone can be more confident in approval decisions!

Purchase includes two shipments—the first within three weeks of purchase and another six months later. Each shipment contains:

A single reference fabric may be used to calibrate up to three instruments in the same facility.
