The 2012 Concept 2 Consumer® Design Competition theme incorporates several
components for a real-world design scenario.
- Target consumer is a 50-65 year old female, size 12-16
- End use is active wear for the consumer’s daily walking routine
- Collection must incorporate a bird design element
- Specified colors must be used
You must be an AATCC member to enter; join online or submit application and US$35.
Work individually or in a team of up to four.
Judging Criteria
- Use of bird design element
- Selection of color palette
- Aesthetic appeal
- Suitability for the target market and end use (e.g., body shape, comfort, style)
Refer to the Competition Entry Checklist for specific entry requirements.
Awards
Team entries will divide the prize among all members.
- 1st place: US$1,000 & Pantone Cotton Planner
- 2nd place: US$750 & Pantone Cotton Planner
- Honorable Mention (2 prizes): US$100
Winners will be announced by May 22, 2012.

Faculty Note
AATCC announces this competition during the late fall, anticipating that design, art,
and merchandising faculty will incorporate it as a project into their spring curriculum.
Faculty members are encouraged to assist students with the coordination of teams and
resources, and to act as liaisons with AATCC for this competition.

By entering the competition, you agree to allow AATCC to use photographs and/or
digital imagery in print and electronic publications and press releases. You retain the
rights to your designs.
