MEASUREMENT
• Current Concepts in Toxicology for the Chemical Industry by Jon C. Fulfs (Textile Chemist & Colorist, June 1980). The current state-of-the-art in toxicology is one of confusion. It would be to the advantage of all if the various factions would stop negatively defending their relative positions and apply the positive direction which is so desperately needed.
• Environmental Impact: Measurement and Control by L. Aubrey Goodson Jr. (Textile Chemist & Colorist, April 1979). Two major changes are altering the course of environmentalism. One is the technical shift from general parameters to specific toxic substances. The other is the public shift to a new conservatism.
• Instrumental Techniques for Analyzing Air Pollutants Generated in Textile Processing by M. V. Zeller (Textile Chemist & Colorist, January 1975). A review of the various types of atmospheric contaminants generated in textile processing, a general survey of methods for sampling these materials, and a discussion of the instrumentation used for analyzing the pollutants.
• Quality Assurance of Environmental Measurements for the Textile Industry by Frederick W. Sexton (Textile Chemist & Colorist, June 1980). The objective of a Quality Assurance Program is to ensure that procedures used by the tester provide accurate, precise and comparable data.
