Results are reported on a study to determine the influences of environmental factors on the strength of "worn and laundered" and "laundered only" men s shirts made of all cotton and of a 65/35 polyester/cotton blend.

The acute toxicity of two biocides frequently used in textile finishing was studied and the influence of ozonation on several environmental sum parameters was assessed.

The amount of formaldehyde released by durable press cotton and cotton blend fabrics is known to be relatively low. What is not known is how the amount of formaldehyde available for release changes as the fabrics are used by consumers.
