Eligibility and Competition Rules    Registration Form

Students are invited to submit a manuscript for the INTC 2008 Student Paper Competition in nonwoven fabric science, engineering and related subjects. Three finalists will be acknowledged at the Award Ceremony held during INTC 2008, September 9 at the Hilton Americas-Houston in Houston, Texas. The finalists will share a cash award of $800 (first place: $500, second and third place: $150 each).

Deadline for Submission of Paper:  All candidates are required to submit their manuscript to the Student Awards Committee by May 30, 2008.

star2009 Herman and Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competitionstar

The Herman and Myrtle Goldstein Student Paper Competition, which is held under the auspices of the Textile Education Committee (see below), is consistent with the goals and objectives of AATCC. The Student Paper Competition was established in 1982 to provide Student Chapters an opportunity to develop, conduct and report original research projects. The competition includes both undergraduate and graduate submittals. Papers are judged on the basis of originality, scientific value, practical value, write-up, and presentation. Oral presentation of the student papers is a feature of each AATCC International Conference (IC). Awards will be made at the 2009 International Conference, February/March 2009 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Winning papers may be published in the Association's magazine, AATCC Review.

A completed official entry form must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. September 19, 2008, to Renzo Shamey, TECS Dept., North Carolina State University, Box 8301, Raleigh, NC 27695-8301 USA; fax +1 919 515 6532; e-mail rshamey@ncsu.edu. Monetary awards will be given for the following: 1st place - $1,000 2nd place - $750 3rd place - $500 4th place - $250 Each student presenting in the competition at the conference, but not placing in one of the top four categories will receive $100.

Textile Education Committee

Faculty advisors of AATCC student chapters are nonvoting ex officio members of the committee. Additional ex officio members are Martin J. Bide, AATCC president-elect, Robert K. Lattie, AATCC president; and John Y. Daniels, AATCC executive vice president.
