Breezeware is a privately-held soft ware company based in Atlanta, Ga., USA. Th e company’s specialties include solving complex challenges with soft ware, analytics, and integration;
developing easy-to-use software systems; and hosting, supporting, and maintaining applications in a timely manner. Breezeware offers its Colorspace software system to set up and tell the complete “color story” through seasonal color development and trend reports.
Brooks Sports Inc.
A subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc., Brooks was founded in 1914 and is headquartered in Bothell, Wash., USA. Brooks Sports designs and markets high-performance men’s and women’s running shoes, apparel and accessories in more than 40 countries worldwide and is dedicated to
inspiring people to run and be active by creating innovative gear that keeps its customers “running longer, farther, faster, and happier.”
The Brooks brand creates performance running shoes and apparel, while the Moving Comfort brand
creates sports apparel and bras. Tricia Schalekamp, Brooks’ senior product development manager, says the Moving Comfort sports bras are “made for women by women, which is why they fit and function as the best bras on the market.”
Christopher & Banks Corp.
Christopher & Banks is a specialty women’s apparel retailer serving the“baby boomer” woman, who seeks clothing that is suitable for both work and leisure, while providing style, fit, and value. The company has successfully established its own Christopher& Banks private label brand, and
offers “department store” quality fashions at lower prices through its direct import program.
Located in Minneapolis, Minn., USA, the company originated with Gil Braun opening the fi rst Braun’s store in Minneapolis in 1956. Braun’s Fashions became a publicly traded company in 1992, and the name of the company was officially changed to Christopher & Banks in July 2000. The company has grown to more than 800 women’s specialty stores in 46 states throughout the United States.
DSM
Headquartered in Heerlen, the Netherlands, DSM’s main biotechnology center is located in Delft in the Netherlands. The company’s main businesses include nutrition, pharmaceuticals,
performance materials, and polymer intermediates. DSM’s contribution to textiles includes
sporting and leisure clothing, wool substitution, tough industrial yarn, and next-generation textile adhesives and coatings for the fabric and leather industry. DSM’s primary interest within the textile industry is enzymes for processing of fibers, and bioscouring and finishing of textiles.
Theo Verleun, DSM’s business manager–enzymes says, “In enzymes, we have almost 130 years of experience, starting with the first ever
industrial enzymes produced in our facilities in the late 1800s, aimed at the textile industry in the north of

Insect Research and Development
began in 1984 when it was located in
the University of Cambridge in the
UK. The company conducted various
types of testing on insects and
arachnids at the university. With the
closure of the applied entomology
department at Cambridge, the company
moved to its current location.
Throughout the company’s history,
house dust mite testing has been
conducted from small lab tests to full
scale clinical trials. Recently a clean
environment allergy testing room was
built to expand the testing facilities.
Jay Apparel Group LLC
Jay Apparel Group specializes in
woven fabrics for finished shirts,
focusing primarily
on non-iron fabrics.

Located in Skokie, Ill., USA, Situ Biosciences offers a full range of product testing performed at its microbiological test facility for antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-algai chemistries and formulations. The company uses microbiological test standards including ASTM, AATCC, JIS, AOAC, ISO, TAPPI, and MIL-STD.
TÜV Rheinland of North America Softlines
TÜV Rheinland of North America
provides comprehensive product
testing and certifi cation services for
North America, Europe and Asia.
While headquartered in Newtown,
Conn., USA, the company opened
a new laboratory in March 2011 in
Bentonville, Ark., USA, which will
provide an extensive portfolio of
testing and certifi cation services for
mainstream consumer products. The
lab will focus mainly on providing
testing and assessment services for
soft lines including wearing apparel,
costumes, upholstery, and home furnishings
as well as toys and children’s
products. Other testing capabilities
offered by the new lab include
consumer electronics, appliances,
household goods and decor, and
cosmetics. The Bentonville facility is
TÜV Rheinland’s first North American
laboratory for these
market segments.
