SUBJECT MATTER
Articles for publication MUST:
- Be original work.
- Provide sufficiently detailed material and process information to enable repetition of experiments.
- Provide data to support all conclusions.
- Make a significant contribution to textile science within the scope of the magazine’s mission statement:
"The
mission of AATCC Review, the primary tangible benefit for AATCC members,
is to serve as a communication forum for the exchange of professional
knowledge among textile professionals. We accomplish this through
coverage of the global textile industry, sharing innovative
and practical news, advances in technology, research,
and features on a broad range of current textile interests."
Articles for publication MUST NOT:
- Obviously promote a particular product or technology.
- Use disparaging or promotional comparisons involving commercially-named products/technologies.
NOTE: Due to limited journal space, AATCC Review can not accept incremental extensions of previously-published work or literature review papers.
COPYRIGHT
- Papers must be accompanied by a signed copyright form.
- Papers previously published will not be considered. Submission of previously published work is a violation of the copyright agreement.
- Conference papers published only in a Book of Papers may be submitted with the permission of the conference organizer.
- Papers submitted to AATCC Review may not be submitted elsewhere for publication without the express written consent of AATCC.
- Authors must obtain and provide written permission for AATCC to use any previously published text, tables, figures, and photographs.
- For photographs, authors must also provide written permission from the photographer and each person shown, or his/her guardian.
TEXT FORMATTING
- Authors should use generic identifiers where possible. (AATCC sanctions the use of commercial names where appropriate and necessary, but suggests that the author state generic classes as well.)
- Any logical arrangement of the paper is acceptable.
- The text of the article must be submitted electronically (on disk or e-mail attachment) as a word processing document with a .doc file extension.
- An abstract of 125 words or less must be included with every manuscript.
- A list of key terms must be included in each manuscript.
- Names and affiliations of all authors should be included.
- A complete address for the corresponding author must be included with the manuscript, including name, company/institution, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address.
- The manuscript, including abstract, text, sized graphics (figures or photos), captions, tables, and references, should be 14 or fewer double-spaced 8.5 ´ 11-in. pages (less than 3,500 word of text).
- The manuscript should be submitted in Times New Roman font, 12 point type, with 1-in. margins.
GRAPHICS
- Graphics (tables, figures, graphs, charts, photos, line art, etc.) should be submitted as individual files in their original formats and separate from the manuscript text.
- Graphics should have a resolution of at least 300 dpi to print clearly.
- Printed photographs are acceptable if they are clear, glossy prints of at least 3.5 x 5 in.
- Figures should be labeled and referred to using Arabic numerals (e.g., Fig. 1, Fig. 2, etc.)
- Tables must be submitted in spreadsheet or table format—no spaces, no tabs.
- Tables should be labeled and referred to using Roman numerals (e.g., Table I, Table II, etc.)
REFERENCES
- Sources should be referenced according to the Chicago Manual of Style.
- References should be numbered consecutively with superscript Arabic numerals in the proper place in the text.
- If a reference is used more than once, the original reference number should be repeated unless a new chapter is referenced.
- References should be listed at the end of the manuscript, in the form shown below.
- The full name of each publication should be written out. Do not abbreviate titles.
- References should list beginning and ending page numbers of the cited article or chapter.
