AATCC Foundation Scholarships

Color Solutions International Textile and Apparel Design Scholarship

This US$2,500 scholarship is intended specifically for students studying textile and apparel design. Nominations are invited from the department heads of all colleges and universities offering degrees in these areas.

Selection Criteria:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a textile field
  • Design/fashion focused
  • SAT scores
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in school or the community
  • Financial need
  • Demonstrated work experience and history
  • US-born American citizen, qualified for in-state resident tuition
  • Students of any class (i.e., rising freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior)

Nominations are due to the AATCC Foundation by March 31. The selected recipient’s school will be notified by May 30. Recipients will receive half of the award for the fall semester, and half for the winter. Recipient maintaining a cumulative grade point average of greater than 2.5 are eligible to reapply for a second year of support.

Charles H. Stone Scholarships

Four US$5000 Piedmont Section Charles H. Stone Scholarships are awarded per year to junior or senior students who reside in N.C., S.C., VA or W. VA and who attend North Carolina State University or Clemson University.
Selection Criteria:

  • US citizen
  • Junior or senior in undergraduate program
  • Minimum TGPA of 2.85 on a 4.0 scale
  • Clemson Polymer & Fiber Chemistry or NCSU Polymer & Color Chemistry student
  • Eligible Piedmont Section textile employee
  • Extracurricular activities
  • Employment experience
  • Financial need and access to funding (other scholarships, financial aid, etc.)
  • Character

Charles E. Gavin III Family Scholarship

The AATCC Foundation currently awards two $2,500 Charles E. Gavin III Scholarships per year to rising freshmen, sophomore, junior, or senior students. This scholarship rotates between six university programs located in the southeast US: Georgia Institute of Technology, Auburn University/Chemical Engineering, University of Georgia, Clemson University, NC State University, and Auburn University Polymer and Fiber Engineering.

Selection Criteria:

  • Citizenship
  • Demonstrated leadership in school or community
  • Financial need
  • SAT scores
  • Academic expectancy to graduate
  • Work experience and history
