The presentation on vat dyes will cover both exhaust and continuous applications. A discussion of the various sub-classes of vats along with application chemistry and parameters will be included. The influence of liquor ratio; dyeing temperature; and amount of reduction chemicals, alkali, and other commonly used dyeing auxiliaries will be discussed.
Don Carrigan
Don Carrigan is a Technical Representative with Passaic Color & Chemical, a division of Royce Associates LP. He graduated from North Carolina State University in 1969 with a BS in Textile Chemistry. His industry experience includes 14 years dyeing towels and sheeting with Cannon Mills in Kannapolis, N.C., USA; 17 years with BASF in technical service and dye sales for both cellulosic and synthetic fibers; and four years with DyStar in technical service and sales. Carrigan has been with Passaic Color & Chemical for six years, working in technical service and sales of vat dyes and reducing agents.
